A brand new $300 million dollar healthcare facility called Worcester Medical Center was built by Saint Vincent Hospital, the owner and major tenant.
Although the distance from the old facility to the new was short, perceptions were so entrenched for the old location that a campaign was initiated to build awareness for the benefits of the new hospital.
What was also unique in Worcester was that a non-profit hospital (UMass Medical Center) and a for-profit hospital were both regarded as excellent healthcare facilities. How to choose?
