Davis Advertising’s First Honey Dew TV Spot Debuts

Honey Dew, Inc. became a client of Davis Advertising in February and today, April 8, the agency’s first Honey Dew television commercial began a run on stations such as WBZ-TV 4, WCVB-TV 5, and WHDH-TV 7 out of Boston; ABC6 (WLNE-TV) out of Providence; NECN; CSNE; and additional Comcast cable stations throughout New England.

The ad, titled “Make Every Minute Count,” tells the story of three co-workers counting down the minutes to lunch while a voiceover reminds people to “make every minute count” when it comes to lunch. The importance of lunch is playfully reinforced by the music of bongos in the background. Then, when the clock strikes noon, the three colleagues roll from their respective cubicles to a central point in the hallway and agree to grab lunch at Honey Dew. In the next shot they are at Honey Dew, ordering and eating Willow Tree Chicken Salad Sandwiches and drinking iced teas.

The spot accomplishes a number of goals. Employing the “Let’s Dew Lunch” slogan, it introduces to the public the idea of Honey Dew as a lunchtime destination for eating in or taking out, since the Willow Tree Chicken Salad Sandwich is the company’s first lunch sandwich. It also advertises the tastiness, freshness and healthfulness of this debut lunch menu item, which is made-to-order from local ingredients, including chicken salad from Willow Tree Farm in Attleboro, MA and fresh-baked multigrain croissants.

“Make Every Minute Count” was written by Davis Advertising’s Creative Director and produced by Davis’s video production and audio production teams, which in addition to filming the spot, also scouted locations for the shoot and hired actors to play the roles of the three co-workers and the Honey Dew Team Member. Finally, “Make Every Minute Count” was managed from conceptualization to editing by the agency’s account executives.

This new TV ad is part of a broad campaign introducing the Willow Tree Chicken Salad Sandwich and includes a radio spot and point-of-purchase marketing materials for each of Honey Dew’s more than 140 locations.

Davis Advertising Provides Creative, Promotional Assistance to Boston Menorah Lighting

Helping Bostonians and visitors from across New England celebrate the joys and values of Chanuka in grand style, Davis Advertising assisted Chabad of Boston with the Boston Menorah lighting ceremony at Copley Square, Boston, on December 12, 2012. The agency, employing its creative and administrative resources, produced important materials such as a postcard and an e-blast, which helped promote and advertise the event.
The Boston Menorah is one of the largest in the world and its lighting ceremony included refreshments, live music and Chanuka giveaways. Notably, it was attended by Massachusetts House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo, Senate President Therese Murray and Governor Deval Patrick, who lit the Menorah.
“It was an honor for us to support and help promote this wonderful ceremony,” said Davis Advertising Account Executive Adam Levine. “The holidays are a time for people to come together and the Boston Menorah lighting is an excellent example of that, so we were glad to help out.”
According to Chabad of Boston, Chanuka commemorates a miracle that occurred following a small army’s victory over a much larger one, when a small jar of oil meant to last for only a single day kept the Menorah lit for eight days; therefore, the Menorah symbolizes the triumph of freedom over oppression and light over darkness.
In a separate proclamation, Patrick said, “This miracle of light is preserved by the Jewish community everywhere through the lighting of the Chanukah Menorah, symbolizing the ideals of religious freedom and offering a beacon of hope to all those who are still subjected to spiritual oppression…”

Davis Advertising Opens Focus Group Room

Worcester, MA – Recognizing the need for a comprehensive focus group service in Central Massachusetts, Davis Advertising recently designed and implemented a state-of-the-art focus room within its Worcester offices. Backed by the agency’s vast experience in branding, advertising, marketing and market research, companies across New England now have an effective and convenient arena to test products, services, advertising campaigns and overall branding, while also conducting market research.

The creation of this new service at Davis Advertising is the only one of its kind in Worcester County.

“We knew from our clients that there was a need for focus group services in Central Massachusetts, and we knew that with our background and our facility we would be able to provide an excellent space and premier support services,” said Davis Advertising president Andrew Davis. “We’re excited to bring this option to our current clients and to other businesses in need of the facility.”

Davis Advertising’s new focus room is a private facility located inside the agency’s offices at 1331 Grafton Street, Worcester, conveniently located at the junction of Route 20 and Grafton Street, just a half mile from the Mass Pike. Noted for its comfortable conference table setting and cutting edge technology, the room features a variety of amenities, including:

  • Four discreet cameras for multi-angle viewing and recording
  • High-definition screen (with optional HD video)
  • Versatile product display area
  • A separate food preparation room
  • Free, secure parking

In the client viewing area, meanwhile, focus groups may be observed through either a two-way mirror or via live stream broadcast.

Among the support services that Davis Advertising will provide for focus group clients are:

  • Recruitment of participants – As one of the largest advertising agencies in New England, Davis Advertising will match the demographics of focus groups to clients’ needs.
  • Moderator – Davis Advertising will provide each client with its own experienced moderator, chosen to meet the needs of that client.
  • Audio and Video Recording – Each session will be recorded and provided to clients using the platform of their choice, including DVD, CD, mp3, and compressed video file.

Given all the advantages that focus groups provide, the convenience and background support provided by Davis should be a boon to area businesses.

“Focus groups are an excellent opportunity to hone your message and improve branding and advertising, not to mention gain valuable insight into consumer behavior and attitudes,” Andrew Davis added. “The information they provide can help companies grow and prosper.”
